A worker walks along scaffolding on the facade of the neoclassical National Archaeology Museum in Athens yesterday. Greece’s largest museum was closed in September 2002 for major renovation work and is due to open in April 2004 so as to be ready for the Athens Olympics. Officials have promised new, upgraded facilities, the new presentation of exhibits and exhibition of artifacts that will appear for the first time.
