Two Albanian fugitives caught, one still on the run

Greek police have arrested two convicts who over the weekend escaped from Albania’s maximum security prison of Drenova, south of capital Tirana, according to reports.

Police early on Thursday arrested convicted murderer Eduard Lulo near Kozani, in northern Greece. Another fugitive, Gezim Toma, was caught on the previous day following an exchange of fire with police officers in the area of Kastoria that left him injured.

A third fugitive, Reiz Haxhiraj, remains elusive, authorities said.

A group of seven convicts escaped prison on Saturday before three of them were spotted crossing the border into northwestern Greece. Albanian police have already arrested the other four fugitives.
