Greece, Russia to sign technical cooperation agreement

Russia’s Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (photo) is due to sign an agreement for technical cooperation issues between his country and Greece when he visits Athens on Monday and Tuesday.

Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said in a news conference that Shoigu will meet Greek political leaders including his counterpart Dimitris Avramopoulos.

“There is no doubt that after this visit, cooperation between the two countries will escalate and move forward at a fast pace,” Antonov is reported to have said.

He said the agreement that Shoigu is due to sign in Athens relates to cooperation on military and defense issues.
