Self-confessed Patra killer remanded in custody

A 33-year-old man who is said to have confessed to the murder of a 43-year-old woman in Patra, western Greece, on Friday was remanded in custody pending trial on Monday.

The suspect, an Albanian national, has allegedly admitted that he repeatedly stabbed the 43-year-old woman in her home, saying that he was romantically involved with her.

However, the victim’s family on Monday refuted reports that the suspect had been working as an odd-job man at the 43-year-old’s home. They said he had worked for about five days at the family’s business two years ago.
