Parents of disabled gather in central Athens on International Day of People with Disability
Several dozen parents and guardians of people with disabilities gathered on Tuesday morning at Korai Square in central Athens to demand a stop to cost-cutting measures that have hit people with disabilities all over Greece and to mark the International Day of People with Disability.
The association of parents and guardians of people with disabilities is demanding that more funds are allocated to schools and educational programs catering to children with special needs, an increase in disability benefits and cheaper medication, among other measures.
