Health minister to meet with representatives of striking doctors
Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis is due to have his first face-to-face meeting with representatives of doctors working with EOPYY, the country’s main healthcare provider, on Friday.
The ministry and EOPYY doctors have been at odds for the last month over plans to overhaul primary healthcare and transfer the medics to public hospitals or fire them.
“It is clear that we have no time to lose,” Georgiadis said on Wednesday after holding preliminary talks.
He aims to have completed the changes to primary healthcare by the end of January.
