Golden Dawn MP asks for conditional release
A lawyer acting for Golden Dawn MP Panayiotis Lagos, currently in pretrial custody, submitted a 63-page document to judicial authorities on Thursday asking for the lawmaker to be released on bail.
Lagos has been in custody since September 28 and claims that the case against him is politically motivated and based on false testimony.
He denies any involvement in the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas, which was the incident that triggered the arrest of several Golden Dawn MPs.
Lagos is the third deputy from the neo-Nazi party to ask for conditional release.
The other two, leader Nikos Michaloliakos and his number two, Christos Pappas, had their requests turned down.
