POE-OTA unionists hold protest at Interior Ministry

The municipal workers’ union (POE-OTA) on Friday protested at the Interior Ministry in Athens against a planned mobility scheme for local government staff.

Members of POE-OTA entered the building singing Christmas carols with lyrics changed to target the mobility plans. Representatives also demanded a meeting with alternate Interior Minister Leonidas Grigorakos.

Protesters were escorted out of the building by police. The protest ended without incident.

About 3,500 municipal workers across the country are to be inducted into a mobility scheme.
