Theodorakis hospitalized in Athens with a fever
Composer Mikis Theodorakis was hospitalized in Athens on Monday with a fever.
According to his doctor, the 88-year-old’s high temperature was probably prompted by a lung infection.
He was placed under close monitoring.
Theodorakis is famed for compositions that are based on the works of renowned Greek poets but internationally he is known as the man who penned the score to the popular film “Zorba the Greek.”
In 2010, Theodorakis helped found an anti-austerity movement called Spitha (spark).
