Coast guard tows migrant boat to safety

Ninety-four migrants, including an elderly woman and two expectant mothers, were reported to be in good health on Thursday after being towed to safety by the coast guard when the vessel they were traveling in ran into trouble off the coast of Pylos in the southwestern Peloponnese on Wednesday.

Three people who were on the boat have been arrested on charges that they were smuggling the 94 migrants into Greece.

The 94 migrants are being temporarily housed at an indoor sports arena in Pylos while they undergo processing. The elderly woman and the two expectant mothers, meanwhile, were taken to local health center to be checked.
