Greek gov’t in new talks with EOPYY doctors as strike is extended
Health Ministry officials held a new round of talks with doctors working for the country’s main healthcare provider (EOPYY) on Monday even as unionists extended their strike action through to Friday in protest at state health service reforms which, they claim, “will create the conditions for the dismissal of EOPYY doctors from hospitals.”
The doctors are angry at the ministry for pushing the reforms into law by attaching an amendment to legislation which was voted through Parliament earlier this month.
