Municipal workers to hold stoppage, Athens protest on January 10
The union representing municipal workers (POE-OTA) said on Friday that it is planning a work stoppage on January 10 so that members of the union can attend a protest rally at the central Athens court complex where the union’s general council is to go on trial.
The stoppage will start at 11 a.m., ahead of the noon gathering at the court, where 35 unionists are to stand trial in connection with extended strike action in October 2011 to protest cutbacks imposed by the government.
