Police investigating Greek-Albanian border drug route
Police at the northwestern Greek border with Albania were examining on Friday a route that they believe was used by drug runners from the neighboring country to transport a load of 322 kilograms of hashish that was seized in Igoumenitsa.
The drugs were found in a van being driven by an Albanian man, who has been placed under arrest.
Authorities are now seeking any accomplices he may have had at the rural border crossing in Filiata.
Some 10 tons of hashish from Albania was seized in the region in 2013.
