Snowfall forces schools in northern Greece to close

Schools in some parts of northern Greece were closed on Monday due to snowfall.

Schools in certain parts of West Macedonia, Central Macedonia and East Macedonia and Thrace were shut down for safety reasons after snowfall over the weekend and sub-zero temperatures on Monday.

Due to the weather conditions, drivers are required by the police to use snow chains on many roads in northern Greece.
