Farmers launch highway protests over tax measures, energy costs
Greece’s farmers began parking their tractors on sections of highways around the country on Monday to protest against tax measures and the high cost of energy.
The protest is being led by farmers in Thessaly, central Greece, where tractors are due to be lined up at the Nikaia junction of the Athens-Thessaloniki national road, near Larissa.
Farmers from all over Greece had gathered in Thessaloniki on Saturday to protest outside the Agrotica exhibition.
