Anarchist gets 25-year term for killing taxi driver on Paros

A Greek court on Friday passed down as 25-year prison sentence to 30-year-old Tasos Theofilou after finding him guilty of killing the taxi driver Dimitris Michas during an armed robbery on the Aegean island of Paros in August 2012.

The court’s verdict was chiefly based on DNA evidence matched to a cap that police investigators found at the crime scene.

Theofilos, who describes himself as an anarchist, was cleared of charges linking him to the urban guerrilla group Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire.
