STASY staff join quake relief effort in Cephalonia
STASY, the company that manages fixed-track forms of public transport in Athens, is contributing to the reconstruction effort in Cephalonia following the recent earthquakes that caused extensive damage to the Ionian island’s infrastructure.
The management and the workers’ union agreed to dispatch a 20-member team to the island, including electricians, plumbers and builders, who are now repairing quake damage at 52 school buildings, the airport and an old people’s home.
The company is covering the cost of the workers’ accommodation as well as construction materials.
The STASY workers will remain on Cephalonia until Friday.
