Athens police think burned man was involved in migrant trafficking

Police in Athens on Wednesday were seeking to establish the identity of a charred corpse discovered in the trunk of a burned vehicle in a remote part of Paiania, eastern Attica.

The car was discovered on Ambelonos Street.

According to police sources, the victim was a Greek man believed to have been a member of a migrant trafficking racket but to have had a “conflict of interests” with another organized crime ring.
