Glezos accuses Venizelos of foot-dragging over war reparations
SYRIZA MP and WWII resistance fighter Manolis Glezos on Thursday accused Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos of dragging his feet on the issue of war reparations from Germany.
Greece’s State Legal Council produced a confidential report earlier this month on the question of war compensation and the so-called occupation loan that Greece was forced to make under Nazi occupation.
Glezos, 91, attacked Venizelos after the Socialist leader and deputy prime minister recently asked the council to issue a fresh ruling, describing its first on February 11 as a “proposal” and not a “recommendation.”
