Request for lifting of prosecution ban of Golden Dawn MP over traffic offenses

The Supreme Court has asked Parliament to lift the immunity of Golden Dawn MP Stathis Boukouras, who is already facing charges of being part of a criminal organization, so he can be tried for traffic offenses.

According to a case file compiled by a prosecutor in Corinth, west of Athens, Boukouras and 10 other Golden Dawn members are alleged to have stopped traffic on the Athens-Patra highway on November 18 and raised one of the bars at the Zevgolatio toll station so cars could pass without paying.

Boukouras is already in pre-trial custody for his alleged role in the party’s criminal activities.
