Hunting rifle causes stir at Patra court’s administrative services
Police and rapid-response units on Friday were called to a building that houses the administrative services of the Patra Court of Fist Instance in the western Greek port city, after staff saw a hunting rifle propped up at the entrance to an office.
A large number of officers responded to the call amid fears that someone in the building may have been planning an attack.
It transpired, however, that the weapon belonged to a 77-year-old man from the neighboring region of Aetolokarnania who had driven into Patra to have it repaired and thought he’d stop by the court’s services on the way to settle a bureaucratic matter, leaving his rifle at the door.
