Doctors react to extension of contracts with EOPYY
The National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY), which covers some 9.5 million people and is currently undergoing a radical overhaul, is to extend existing contracts with private doctors for three months, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
The extension of cooperation deals between EOPYY and 4,500 private doctors from March 31 to end-June is expected to grant the ministry more time to draft a new deal on the operation of EOPYY’s reincarnation, the Primary National Healthcare Network (PEDY).
The decision has prompted reactions from medical associations, which have threatened industrial action unless a new deal is drawn up by the end of this month and their job security is clarified as soon as possible.
