SYRIZA MP Rena Dourou resigns to ‘focus on May elections’

SYRIZA MP Rena Dourou, who represents Athens’s second constituency, on Tuesday quit the leftist party, saying that she wants to focus her energies on her candidacy for Attica governor in May’s local elections.

Dourou will be replaced by Eleni Avloniotou, a former swimming champion, the leftist party said following the MP’s announcement.
