Kathimerini columnist targeted by students in Patra

A group of around 20 people on Thursday heckled Kathimerini columnist Paschos Mandravelis and then smashed his car’s windscreen and front windows in Patra, where he was taking part in a public discussion about universities.

Mandravelis was not hurt in the incident, which took place within the grounds of the University of Patra.

The journalist had been invited by DAP-NDFK, New Democracy’s student group, to take part in an event titled “Tomorrow’s University.”

Police are investigating the attack, which is believed to have involved university students who are members of extreme leftist groups.
