Two cases pending over alleged rape of girl, 5, in Greek mosque

Justice Minister Haralambos Athanasiou (photo) revealed on Thursday that there are two judicial cases pending regarding allegations that a 5-year-old girl was raped in a mosque in the village of Glafki, near Xanthi in northeastern Greece.

Responding to a question from Independent Greeks MP Terence Quick, who cited a report published on a Thrace-based website, Athanasiou said that two case files had been created but the hearings have not yet been held.

It is alleged that the girl’s uncle, his 12-year-old son and a friend of the boy raped the girl.
