A resident tries to extinguish a fire near his house at Prari in Koropi, around 30 kilometers east of Athens yesterday. Firefighters scrambled to contain wildfires in Kalyvia, Alykes, Maroussi and other parts of Attica as well as Corinth, as flames were fueled by high winds and temperatures. Fire chiefs said organized teams of arsonists may have started some of the blazes.
