City of Athens, Church of Greece hand out Easter Sunday meals

Queues formed outside a sports arena in Rouf, near central Athens, on Easter Sunday as the City of Athens handed out around 1,000 free meals to the capital’s homeless and other residents in need.

The Church of Greece is estimated to have fed around 400,000 people on the same day.

Around 20,000 of those meals were handed out by the Archbishopric of Athens.
