Hundreds of young socialists, among the 8,000 taking part at the International Union of Socialist Youth, took to the streets of the coastal resort of Kammena Vourla yesterday. They sang leftist standards and held a meeting outside the town council, where they condemned the US-led invasion of Iraq and the rebellion by soldiers in the Philippines.
