With August approaching…
With August approaching and the summer exodus beginning to pick up steam, traffic jams are building up at chokepoints including Piraeus (photo) and on the national highways as thousands of holidaymakers and their vehicles head off for the islands, coastal resorts and mountain villages from which many Athenians are descended. Inbound traffic was relatively light yesterday, indicating that many of those who left on Friday had left for the holidays and not just for the weekend.
