Prosecutor calls for life sentence to stand against music teacher
A prosecutor recommended to an Athens appeals court on Wednesday that it uphold a life sentence for a 42-year-old music teacher who was found guilty of murdering his wife and burying her body in a public park near their home in the northern Athens suburb of Filothei.
The 42-year-old claims that he bludgeoned his wife in September 2008 in self-defense after she attacked him with a knife during a violent argument.
The prosecutor, however, argued that the fact he removed her body from the scene of the crime and buried it under cement showed a degree of premeditation and “cruel behavior.”
