Pakistani man kills compatriot, seriously wounds Greek businessman on Crete

A Pakistani national died while a 50-year-old Cretan businessman was in critical condition in Ierapetra, in Lasithi, Crete, after allegedly being attacked by a Pakistani man late on Saturday.

Early reports suggested the suspect killed his compatriot in a shop where the latter was working before attacking the entrepreneur with a meat cleaver at a nearby taverna.

The suspect subsequently attacked a police car outside the local police station before being arrested by policemen.

The 50-year-old was transferred to an Irakleio hospital.
