Maziotis moved to Diavata Prison in Thessaloniki

Nikos Maziotis, the head of the Revolutionary Struggle terrorist group who was arrested earlier this month, has been moved to Diavata Prison in Thessaloniki.

Maziotis was transferred from Korydallos jail on Saturday amid tight security.

His lawyer, Spyros Fytrakis complained that the move could endanger his client’s safety. Maziotis was shot in his shoulder during his arrest and had to undergo surgery. But he discharged himself from Evangelismos Hospital a few days later, demanding to be taken to Korydallos.

Authorities said they moved Maziotis to Diavata for security reasons.
