Water company eases off debtors with under 3,000 euros outstanding
The Athens Water and Sewage Company (EYDAP) has decided to stop taking legal action to collect debts from customers that owe less than 3,000 euros.
The firm’s executive board deemed that the “adverse economic conditions” meant it would be better to end forced collection and invite debtors to arrange payment plans for their unpaid bills.
EYDAP said it will not pursue those owing less than 3,000 euros until June 2015.
It is not clear if the company will resume collections then or review its decision.
