Gas station owner among three arrested for stealing air force fuel
Three suspects – a 56-year-old Greek gas station owner and two Pakistani men – have been arrested for stealing large quantities of jet fuel from a Hellenic Air Force pipeline that runs through the agricultural region of Oinoi in Viotia, north of Attica.
The three suspects are believed to have siphoned fuel from the pipeline at night and then transported it to the 56-year-old’s gas station on the old Elefsina-Thiva national highway.
The fuel was altered for commercial use before being taken by truck to two other gas stations owned by the same man.
It is believed that the gang stole at least 100,000 liters of fuel in the past six months.
