Moderate quake, measuring 4.8 Richter, hits Crete
An undersea quake, measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale, struck off the coast of Crete at 11.20 a.m. on Friday but there were no reports of any damage or injuries.
The quake’s epicenter was located about 30 kilometers south of Tympaki, in the prefecture of Iraklio.
A tremor of the same size struck the same area on June 1, also causing no major damage or injuries.
