Italian professor reaches Athens, ending campaign for Parthenon Marbles’ return

Wrapping up his campaign for the return of the Parthenon Marbles from the British Museum in London to Greece, Italian professor Salvatore Lo Sicco on Saturday visited the Acropolis Museum, where he met with museum Director Dimitris Patermalis and other officials.

Southampton-based Sicco, who went on a 3,200-kilometer, 35-day bicycle ride from London to Athens in a public awareness campaign over the issue, donated his bike to the museum.

Sicco’s campaign was supported by the British Committee for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles.
