Bus driver in hit-and-run incident released pending trial

A 50-year-old Thessaloniki bus driver was released from custody on Sunday after fatally injuring a 70-year-old pedestrian in an alleged hit-and-run incident in the area of Stavroupoli on Friday.

Facing a local prosecutor, the suspect argued that he had not seen the victim on the road. The prosecutor ordered a probe as well as the bus driver’s release pending trial.
