Armed farmer gives self up after holdup at compensation service [Update]
A 30-year-old man gunman who stormed into a building housing the offices of the Organization for Compensation and Payments in Kozani, northern Greece, early on Monday afternoon, and demanded money, handed himself over to police after a negotiator was dispatched to the scene.
According to the Athens-Macedonia News Agency, employees at the office knew the 30-year-old, saying that he had financial difficulties and had visited the service on several occasions seeking compensation for losses on his livestock farm but failed to provide the necessary paperwork.
Noone was injured in the holdup.
