Police names suspects in 400,000-euro heist
The police on Thursday issued the names and photographs of three suspects it believes were involved in an armed bank robbery northwest of Athens last week that netted almost 400,000 euros in cash.
Police said they are looking for Spyros Dravilas, 33, Giorgos Petrakakos, 35, and Spyros Chrystodoulou, 44, over the raid at National Bank in the village of Paralia Distomou on Friday.
The robbers briefly took a bank employee hostage and made their escape in an SUV, a speedboat, and then a second vehicle.
Petrakakos has been linked to two other bank robberies the police have connected to Revolutionary Struggle leader Nikos Maziotis. He is also believed to have ties to fugitive robber Vassilis Palaiocostas.
