Giorgos Stylios named new deputy education minister

New Democracy MP Giorgos Stylios has been appointed deputy education minister after Costas Koukodimos resigned on Monday, citing personal reasons.

Stylios, who was elected to Parliament with the conservative party in Arta, northwestern Greece, is a professor in the Business Administration Department at the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands.

He will be sworn in on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, Maria Stavrinoudi-Sodi replaced ND MP Stamatis Karmatzis after he was appointed deputy regional governor of the Northern Aegean.

Stavrinoudi-Sodi, who ran on the ND ticket on the southeastern Aegean island of Chios, was the runner-up in the June 2012 elections.
