Traffic changes at Piraeus metro site

Attiko Metro, the company in charge of the construction and management of the Athens underground system, has announced new traffic regulations during construction of its metro station in Piraeus, south of Athens.

The project, part of the Line 3 southbound extension, is expected to be completed in two years. The metro station, the biggest part of which will be below sea level, will be adjacent to the existing Piraeus-Kifissia ISAP electrical railway terminus.

The company said that traffic lanes in front of the construction site will gradually be reduced to two in each direction. Access to the footbridge connecting ISAP station to the port will be temporarily closed but bus routes will not be affected.
