Thessaloniki man dies in heavy rainfall on Sunday
A resident of Thessaloniki drowned on Sunday after his car was swept away in a flash flood during heavy rainfall in the northern port city.
The 49-year-old man was driving in a on off-road vehicle in the suburb of Oraiokastro when his vehicle was swept away in a surge of rainwater.
His 19-year-old son, who was riding beside his father in the vehicle, was rescued by a fire service crew that was called to the scene of the accident.
More rain is expected in many parts of the country on Monday and Tuesday.
