Doctor prescribed drugs to addict using mother’s health booklet
A 57-year-old doctor was given a five-year jail sentence by a Thessaloniki court on Wednesday after being found guilty of prescribing drugs to an addict who was using his mother’s social security (IKA) booklet.
The judge described the neurologist as a “danger to society” but agreed to release him pending his appeal.
The doctor got into trouble with authorities earlier this year when he taped an anti-Semitic sign to his door.
The addict was given a one-year term, which he can buy out.
