Third suspect remanded in custody over soccer fan attack

A 32-year-old man was remanded in custody Friday after facing a prosecutor on charges of attempted manslaughter after a 46-year-old soccer fan suffered serious head injuries in violent clashes between supporters of third-division club Irodotos and Ethnikos Piraeus in Nea Alikarnassos, in Iraklio, Crete, last Sunday.

Another two suspects, aged 24 and 27, have also been remanded in custody in the same case, while a fourth man, aged 22, was conditionally released pending trial.
