Antipnoia stabbing trial begins
An Athens court on Friday heard the first witnesses in the case against two men, believed to be members of the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn party, who are being charged over the stabbing of a Greek and a Spanish national at the Antipnoia venue in Kato Petralona, central Athens, in June 2008.
The defendants, who were initially facing misdemeanor charges, were later indicted for attempted manslaughter, which is a felony.
On Friday one of the witnesses reportedly recognized the first defendant as the perpetrator of the attack. The trial is expected to continue on Monday.
