Man dies in well accident

A 45-year-old father of two died after falling into a 30-meter well in the area of Tachi, in Thiva, central Greece, on Friday, local media reported over the weekend.

The incident occurred late on Friday when the victim, originally from Kyllini in the western Peloponnese, arrived in Tachi in a pickup truck to collect onions from a field.

The man allegedly fell into the well after getting out of the pickup to check one of the truck’s wheels, which was reportedly stuck.

Firemen and members of the EMAK rescue team were called to the scene, where the latter retrieved the body from the well following an operation that lasted for several hours.
