A 42-year-old woman was killed early on Tuesday in a horrific accident on Thessaloniki’s ring road.
According to sources, the woman tried to cross the road at around 5.30 a.m. near Eptapyrgio where a car had been waiting to take her to work.
She was hit by a passing vehicle in a collision so intense that parts of her body were scattered across the scene.
Police cordoned off the road for three hours for her remains to be gathered.
The 59-year-old driver of the car that hit her was detained for questioning and then released.
