Finance Ministry appeals to taxpayers to print ENFIA notices at night

The Finance Ministry on Friday appealed to millions of taxpayers to refrain from printing their notifications for the new unified property tax (ENFIA) during peak hours as the online Taxisnet service is experiencing a system overload.

Some 6.2 million taxpayers have until Tuesday to pay the first of six installments of the new tax after the Finance Ministry increased the number of payments and corrected numerous errors recorded in the first batch of notifications sent out earlier in the summer.

The new notifications only started arriving around the middle of this month, meaning that thousands of taxpayers have been logging on to Taxisnet every day to print out their new payment forms in time for the end-month deadline.

The ministry appealed to taxpayers to print their notices after 10 p.m. at night in order to avoid jamming the system.
