Woman, infant drown after car falls into sea off Lefkada
A 22-year-old woman and her infant were killed when the car they had been traveling in plunged off a pier in the resort of Vassiliki on the Ionian island of Lefkada on Friday.
A 26-year-old man who had been driving the car emerged from the vehicle unscathed and was transferred to a local hospital where he was being treated for shock.
The exact circumstances of the incident were unclear while no details were released of the man’s relationship to the woman and child.
Police said the three are all foreign nationals, without elaborating.
