ND MP’s immunity lifted for him to face charges

Parliament on Wednesday voted in favor of lifting New Democracy MP Michalis Tamilos’s immunity for four different cases.

Tamilos faces two charges relating to the time that he was mayor of Trikala and another two that are connected to a business in which he was a partner.

MPs voted against lifting the lawmaker’s immunity to face defamation charges filed by a former parliamentary rival at PASOK, Giorgos Economou, in connection to accusations traded between the two men when they appeared on a radio show.
